Fall Comes to Jamaica Plain – JP Open Studios!

by Cervone Deegan & Associates on September 22, 2011

This year the autumnal equinox, the official start of fall, occurs on September 23rd. In spite of our collective yearning for a longer summer in New England, the days are darkening earlier and cool the scent of this season is undeniably accompanied by a flood of childhood memories: early school days, kicking up piles of leaves and Halloween and Thanksgiving on the horizon.

In Jamaica Plain, fall is also the harbinger of Jamaica Plain Open Studios. In case you missed it this year, the unseasonably warm sunny days provided an atmosphere of a summer festival. As ever, the whimsy, variety and pure artistry invited and charmed the healthy crowds promenading. In most of the businesses on Centre Street, you can still see the various media gracing the halls of commerce. Notably, Michael Cardinali’s ethereal work sweeps across our brick walls at Coldwell Banker, 713 Centre Street, Jamaica Plain.

9/22 post - On Saturday and Sunday September 24th and 25th, the wealth of artists living and working in Jamaica Plain open their doors to shower us with the abundant harvest they have labored over all year long. Though I am not as intimately involved with the arts community as I once was, I can never keep my distance from this exciting event. As an art lover, I revel in the rich tapestry of artistic talent in Jamaica Plain. During this treasured weekend, residents and visitors can traipse the streets for hours and get up close and personal with some truly beautiful art. Be sure to check the official website, which offers a complete listing of the weekend’s showings and everything from paper maps to iPhone apps to help you plan your tour.

Cervone Deegan & Associates is delighted to announce that at our Coldwell Banker office at 713 Centre Street, we will be hosting photographer Michael Cardinali. His atmospheric photos of the Arboretum and other area parks present a pastoral side of the city that should not be missed!
